Most commonly asked questions
When should we attend?
It is a good idea to start the course around the 30th week of your pregnancy though you can start whenever it suits you. Just give yourselves time to complete a full course.
What is the teaching style?
My style of teaching is relaxed, fun and interactive. You can read and learn information but you can’t beat actually doing it. I will have you doing things so you remember what you have learned and understand the meaning.
What shall I wear?
Loose clothing, as we will be doing some stretches and exercises. Some of the venues are shoe free so please bring socks or just go barefoot. Bring a couple of pillows, they will make you feel more comfortable when we are doing the exercises. Mats are supplied.
Can I bring my Mum or a friend?
You can bring whoever you feel comfortable with. Your birthing partner can be your partner, relative or a friend.
How do I pay?
When booking a five week course you need to send a £50 deposit. The venue will have been booked and therefore the deposit is non-refundable. You will need to bring a cheque for the outstanding amount on the first evening of the course. When booking on the ‘One Day in Your Life’ and the ‘Refresher Class’ sessions the full amount will be required at the time of booking. Cheques or cash only please.
What happens once I have booked?
I will confirm your booking and send you a receipt for the deposit or full amount you have paid. You will receive a welcome letter and details of the venue, with any extra information regarding your requirements.
Will there be drinks on offer?
All sessions include refreshments. Tea, coffee, water, squash and healthy options including a fruit bowl. When booking you need to mention any allergies or special dietary requirements,
I cannot make the dates of the courses is there anything else you can offer?
I offer 'one-to-one' sessions in your own home at mutually agreed dates and times. The cost of the 'one-to-one' sessions is £35 per hour plus travelling expenses.
Can I find out more about you?
Yes you can. I am registered with the Federation of Antenatal Educators (FEDANT) as an Antenatal Teacher, registration number 11826. You can access the register on line at www.fedant.org and find out more about my credentials and qualifications.
